Possible Mentors

Please Note: Mentors are listed not as music or instrument teachers, but as advisors, successful and experienced in music, who are willing to listen and offer practical advice to help you overcome challenges to your music related goals. They have perspective and wisdom from years in the music business. Chances are they have dealt with your situation or can refer you to someone who has.

In addition to JAMinc's directors (see the Home page), here are two individuals in the Richmond area music community who have volunteered:

Paul Muller -Part time American roots music professional performer for 35+ years. He learned the brass wind instruments growing up, now focuses on the folk string instruments (guitar, banjo, fiddle, etc.). He chose a primary career in another challenging field but plays music and entertains professionally as well. The best of both worlds.

Paul has experience as a bandleader, has performed with a national level band, has extensive technical knowledge in sound reinforcement, and experience in studio performing, recording and mixing. Currently leads The Company Store, www.companystoreband.com

Buster Bohannon - Full time music professional - performer, teacher, instrument repair technician and retailer. Buster's earns a living from combining several aspects of the music profession. He regularly performs with a well-known Richmond based band and does instrument repair and setup for several of Richmond's music stores.
